DWIGHT FORBES
SENIOR AUDIO TECHNICIAN
Dwight Forbes has been the Senior Audio Technician at Naparima Bowl since 2006, bringing over 30 years of sound engineering experience to the role. Introduced to audio equipment at age 11 through his church, Forbes had early exposure to high-caliber gospel artists and renowned sound engineers. By 14, he was already handling sound for large stadium venues, working with celebrated artists like Helen Baylor, Phil Driscoll, Fred Hammond, and Commissioned. Between the ages of 19 and 25, Forbes gained invaluable international experience, working and learning with various audio companies worldwide.
Upon joining Naparima Bowl, Forbes redesigned the venue’s entire audio system, establishing it as one of the premier-sounding theaters in the country. His responsibilities include operating audio equipment and consoles for all events, programming audio to meet each client’s specific needs, troubleshooting, and coordinating basic repairs. He also archives shows and works seamlessly alongside the Technical Coordinator, Lighting Technician, Stage Manager, and other team members.
Forbes’ career includes roles with Audio Control Sound Company, Johnny Q Sound Company, Audio Works Sound Company, and Lalo Sound Company, where he served as Senior Audio Engineer for the Chutney Monarch competition for four consecutive years. A current member of The Audio Engineering Society of America, Forbes also remains active as head of the Tech Department at his church.
